My name is Lisa Richter. After graduating from the University of NE at Omaha, I beganmy 26 year teaching career in a Kindergarten classroom. I fell in love with their curiousminds, energetic personalities, and their hunger for learning in fun and creative ways. However, my teaching career in Nebraska came to an abrupt end in 2025 when myhusband accepted a new job in the Chicago area. We packed up everything andstarted our newest adventure in the Naperville area. I started tutoring with Tutor On Up in the Fall of 2025 after moving to Illinois. I am also currently a part-time dedicatedbuilding substitute at McCarty Elementary in the Indian Prairie 204 School District.
I am excited to be sharing my love for learning with students in the Chicago area. Ihave a passion for building relationships and mutual trust with each student that I amblessed to work with. I believe that every child has the capacity to learn, in their ownunique way and thus I like to incorporate games, visuals, and interactive activities tokeep our sessions exciting and effective. My goal is to create a positive relationshipwhere students feel comfortable asking questions and can try new things without fear ofmaking mistakes. I am dedicated to helping students gain confidence and enjoy learning.
Outside of the various learning environments that I am happy to be a part of, my husband and I have 2 adult children. Our son lives and works in the Chicago area, and our daughter still resides in Omaha, NE. We have two active doodles that keep us on our toes! I enjoy staying active and love being involved with the new church family that we have found in the area.
