Ever since I was a child and played “school” with my sisters in Iowa, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from North Central College with a degree in elementary Education and began operating my own DCFS licensed daycare home in Downers Grove.
Over the years I have worked with children in a variety of settings, including a District 58 first grade classroom, summer camps, daycares and private tutoring.
After raising my two daughters, life led me into the dental field for 20 years. While I enjoyed the work, I knew that my passion was with teaching children.
Our family has now expanded to include three grandchildren and my attention has refocused on tutoring children.
I believe that children thrive in a comfortable, positive environment that allows a child to understand that all questions are good questions. One of my greatest joys is to leave a tutoring session feeling confident that I made an impact in a child’s education, self confidence, and future growth.
