Katie Perkins, M.A., LPC
I entered the field of counseling with the desire to help students achieve their college and career goals. I remember as a high school student feeling lost and overwhelmed when faced with the realities of choosing a college. My intention is to help every student avoid the anxiety and confusion of a college or career choice. It has been my work as a committed educator to help guide striving students through their own post-secondary goals and objectives while helping them believe in their unique set of abilities and strengths.
I have worked with students across all ability levels with varying interests, objectives, levels of motivation and ambitions. My husband and I reside in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.. We love to travel whenever we have the opportunity. And one of the most valuable opportunities of our travel is the chance to explore college campuses worldwide. Doing so has broadened my perspective about appropriate college decisions and the diversity of college choices. It is these first hand experiences that I feel make my college counseling skills most relevant for students hoping to move to move forward toward college degrees and fulfilling careers.
