My name is Jordan, and I love math! Just because I love math does not mean that it always came easy. I still can remember what it feels like to struggle at times and I now use that to empathize with my students. I graduated from Butler University in 2008 with a degree in middle/secondary education (math). My first year after college I taught Algebra and Geometry in a high school in Indianapolis. Family is super important to me which led me back to the western suburbs of Chicago where I taught math in middle school for 9 years. I also have been tutoring on the side for the past 6 years ranging from 5th to 12th grade. I absolutely love tutoring. It allows me to get to know my students so much better from their personal interests to the way they process and execute math problems. I love building their confidence and watching them grow! When I get word that one of my students did well on a test or improved their grade in the class, you can guarantee I am equally celebrating!
My husband and I have 3 kids of ages 2, 5 and 7. I taught in the classroom until I had my third baby. Other passions of mine besides teaching are being active, exploring the outdoors, being my children’s number 1 cheerleader in everything they do and living a clean, sustainable life.
