I have been in education for 25 years! I began my career as a KG teacher and hopped around from first and second grade after that. It gave me the opportunity to learn the curriculum and skills needed to progress and solidify those important foundational skills for students. After awhile, I was an interventionist and then reading specialist/coach in a K-5 building. I have had the opportunity to be trained in many methods of teaching and tons of strategies to use in large and small group instruction. I also had the opportunity to work with a variety of students that are ESL, gifted, and have an IEP as well. I also use different assessments to identify skills that are strong and secure and skills that student’s need to acquire so that I am meeting the student at their ability level. It also helps to challenge the student so that they grow with confidence. My husband and I live in the western suburbs with our two children and two crazy dogs! We enjoy going on family trips together. When I have free time, I enjoy exercising and doing puzzles.
